12/3: A poetry reading and book signing by Katy E. Ellis & Sati Mookherjee

3:00 pm: Saturday, December 3, 2022

Poetry reading at Cherry Street Coffee House
Book signing at Open Books

Stunning poetry, aromatic coffee and new friendships will come together on Saturday, December 3rd at 3:00pm at Cherry Street Coffee and Open Books: A Poem Emporium. The reading will take place at Cherry Street Coffee House (1st & Cherry) with a signing immediately following the reading at Open Books (108 Cherry St.).

Katy E. Ellis’ Home Water, Home Land (Tolsun Books 2022) explores the interior landscape and transitions a young woman must navigate to break away from her family’s patriarchal belief system to find—or become—her own savior.

Sati Mookherjee's Eye (Ravenna Press 2022) describes the exile of her grandfather from India to pre-World War II Europe, his interior voyage from grief to insight and the echoes of those journeys in the lives of his descendants. Very different in form, time and setting, these collections harmonize with themes of motherhood, voyage, religion, exile, and longing for home. Together, these books are a perfect pairing as a memorable and moving holiday gift for any reader.

Come take part in an event that celebrates the power of poetry and independently owned small businesses to create community and human connection!
