Join us on Saturday, August 27, during open store hours (12-5) as we Art and Abet Abortion, an action conceived by Mariame Kaba in support of #500ActsforAbortion, organized by Claire Schwartz and Hannah Cornfield. We'll have art and shipping supplies available, and Open Books will take care of postage!

Basics for Art and Abet Abortion

Whether or not you're able to make it to the store, it's easy to participate & all ages are welcome:

Create a visual art work measuring 2.5 by 3.5 inches (playing card size). You can use any type of medium (paper, canvas, cardboard, whatever).
You choose the theme. Your imagination is the limit.
Mail your completed art to Mariame Kaba by September 15, 2022 (postmarked). Mailing address is:

Include a short 2 sentences about yourself including your name (you can include full name or just your first name or initials), pronouns (if you’d like), where you live (city, state or country). This short bio will be included in the virtual art exhibit.
